I thought I was done with head-fi two years ago, but now I am back :/. Reason is because I impulse-bought a sennheiser HD25-1 to go with my iRiver H340 as I am done with IEM's. But as soon as the senn's came in the H340 broke. Now I have to get a new portable source.
I am deciding between a Sony Ericsson w995 and the 7th Gen iPod 160GB.
I will receive the w995 in 2 weeks because I have a new contract and my sister is on holiday in USA, so this week she can buy a iPod for cheap. (I live in Europe.)
As I don't have the chance to test the w995, I don't know how good it is. But if it's good enough for the HD25-1, there is no need to buy the iPod.
But if there is a significant difference, then I should act now and buy iPod 160gb.
So what do you guys think?
(In fact I don't really care about SQ of w995, but I don't want my HD25-1 [stock cable] to be wasted, all I need is a smooth/natural/enjoyable sound out of the w995. Also: is it possible to turn off the clear sound and bass enchantment on the w995?)
