Well, my Nokia XpressMusic 5310 just went through the wash since I left it in my pants, so I'm now looking for an adequate replacement.
The sound quality on the 5310 was passable, except that it was too loud even at its lowest volume with the Westone UM3X; I had to use an inline attenuator to make it even usable. The phone I'm currently interested in buying is the Motorola ROKR E8: should I expect similar issues with that?
Also, any other suggestions for a good, cheap (sub $200 unlocked) GSM music phone? My ideal phone would be a full fledged DAP w/ a few calling features, not a full fledged smartphone w/ music playback functions as an afterthought. Unfortunately a phone like this does not seem to exist...
