AMEN KEVDO!

The whole Head-Fi/radiohead/constant arguing thing has gotten so tiring and, it hijacks every damn thread!

Anywho-im gonna have to agree with Azathoth on Catch 33; a truly revolutionary album.

A couple of genre altering/defining, to be classics of this decade:

ISIS-Oceanic
Tool-Aenima
Aphex Twin-I Care Because You Do
Sigur Ros-Agaetis Byrjun
Opeth-Blackwater Park
The Mars Volta-De-Loused in the Comatorium

I agree, one of the most beautiful albums recorded ever. But panned? That was one of the most universally praised albums of that year. EVERYONE loved it.

Slint - Spiderland.

Largely ignored upon release (although most of the people who gave it attention loved it- including Albini) and still divides critics to this day.

I'm hoping Switchfoot's "The Legend of Chin" will be paid more attention some years down the road. It's a tremendous album and one of my favorites ever...it's so unlike anything else they're known for.

Also I can see Foo Fighter's "One by One" and their later albums being heard in 2025 the way we hear classic rock now.

Legend of Chin is from last decade - 1997. I remember because I bought it my freshman year of college.

Forgive me; I obviously completely ignored the whole "panned" part.

In that case, ignore virtually all of the ones listed, except for maybe ISIS.

In the year 2525 the Bee Gees performing Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band will be declared a masterpiece, better than the original. Then a black hole will open and swallow the earth, effectively putting an end to mankind.
