What started out as a trip to get custom impressions has turned into a bi-monthly meeting, chat, and sometimes drink with SoundCAT, one of headfi's sponsors. They also sponsor South Korea's largest audio website, cdpKorea, work together with Uncle Wilson, and supply many of the products which we rave about every day to the Asian market.
Their shop is stuck right in the middle of one of the most interesting, chaotic techno marketplaces I have ever been, Yongsan. You can get anything there, and if not wary, can be way overcharged. But, I found the place after searching for custom impressions on Google, met the staff and had the chance to meet and greet with Jays' Tim Mabley, a very nice gentleman who has had both feet in the audio industry since I before I was in diapers.
If you are in East Asia, Korea in particular, this company is a great place for the newest headphones, amps, cables, accessories, and after service. And, if you get them at the right time, you might just get to meet some big exec from the likes of Sensaphonics, Jays, or someone else...
Anyway, I wrote a little about my experiences with them since coming to Korea, and about their business which is revolutionary in the stodgy Korean market.
