The ultimate Frankenstein headphones.

Thread Starter
I was at work thinking of a question that popped into my head...

If you could somehow combine aspects of certain head phones (highs/mids/bass/soundstage) to make the ultimate pair of headphones, which would you pick?

In my experience (albeit limited), I'd probably take everything from a Senn HD 650 except the soundstage, which I'd want from an AKG 701.

Having previously owned the 650, sound field wasn't that "not-good"...

I haven't heard enough phones to make a comment, but am intrigued to see what some of the more 'headphone-versed' users say.

Both of what i have - sorry - the HD800s detail and soundstage/airiness with the DX1000s Bass and maybe mix in some of its soundstage elements into the goulash.

Duggeh pretty much nailed it...
That would be really close to my frankenstein headphone as well.

The highs and soundstate from the K701.
Bass and mid-bass from the HD650.
Neutralness from the Beyer 880s.
Looks from the T1.
