Hi all,
I recently got a 5th (latest) gen iPod nano and it is not liking my Nuforce NE-7M earphones. Here are the symptoms:
* Ipod pauses at random without me pressing the buttons. Doesn't matter if the hold switch is on or off.
* When I try to resume playback, it plays for half a second or so and pauses again.
The only way to continue playback is to press the button on the headphones next to the mic.
* Occasionally when touching the jack end of the headphone cable or the twisting/turning the headphone jack when it is plugged in to the ipod, the player would pause, resume, or skip to next track. The touching/twisting of cable and jack must somehow trigger the same signal as a button press.
This makes the ipod/NE-7M combination unusable when walking around with the ipod in your pocket, as of course the wire and jack are constantly touched and bumped.
I have tried this on two brand-new ipod nanos (both 5th gen), same issue. Both players work fine with any other headphone (however i don't have any other headphones with a built-in mic and remote, only simple stereo phones).
When connected to ipod video (5th gen), headphones work fine, remote input is ignored, touching/twisting the cable and jack has no effect.
When connected to ipod classic (6th gen), headphones work fine, remote input works, touching/twisting the cable and jack has no effect.
Help?...
