Indeed, both in color and sound (mind that I have never heard the MK2).
There are four (4) different Omega 2 models

1997-2007 (often referred to as MK1)
* SR-007 -> Brown leather/cable and champagne housing (picture)
* SR-007BL -> Black leather/cable and champagne housing (picture of my pair)

2007-
* SR-007A -> Black leather/cable and silver housing (picture)
* SR-007MK2 -> Black leather/cable and black housing (picture)

As you see, the MK1 have champagne colored housing. While the MK2 have black colored housing.

Well, sorry for not being totally precise with the naming. What I wanted to say was that I prefer how the new models look than the older version. Just my 2 cents.

I would believe they sound fabulous, this thread is not about that though.

wood colour the sound a bit much based on the ones I tried.

The wooden cans I tried has been way to big to look good too. markl D5000/DX 1000. They have nice touches but several sizes to big. Not that it matters for a dime how headphones look.

Definitely the Edition 8's for me. Good materials...nice shine and not overstated. Gives you great looks and even better sound without making you look like Princess Leigha.

hey, that's kind of like cheating since it's not OEM. But I guess no one stated the rules ... they're dead sexy.
