Features we would love to see in portable amps - Page 4

I would love to see a portable electrostatic amplifier, besides the Stax SRM-001 that is.
One that could be used to drive full size headphones on the road. Perhaps not pocket size, but more like the RSA SR-71A or like. Battery operated of course.

Built in DAC would be nice as well.

I look at the size of my Sansa Clip and E5 and can't help but think that if you took the two circuit boards and slapped them together it'd still be smaller than your typical ipod.

edit: whoops wrong thread; oh well, the question still stands

Can the usb connection on a dap also function as a lineout with a proper adapter? It'd just be nice to see a (sort of) standard rather than all these proprietary line out adapters.

Full band parametric EQ is what I'm missing in a portable amp.

I have noticed ALOT of people's request are already full filled by this amp which I own, It is an amazing amp.

http://www.practicaldevices.com/

It's a good DAC, Bass and Treble boost, changeable op amps, can use any 9 volt battery, dynamic x-over, 75 ohm switch, 10DB gain switch.

I love this amp it sound amazing and has so many features

AMP3 is definitely has this function of sleep time which you can set at 5minunts to 60 minutes various durations. Amp3 as an amp also has the screen to show the vlolume and other imformations.

I hope Hisoundaudio will design such a player soon. For their AMP3 is already AMP/DAP hybrid. it is easy for them to adjust to DAC/AMP/DAP. I also don't hope the price will be too higher.

Bloody hell that XM5 is bloody beautiful!

I've been nosing around at this: Portable EQ + Amp

Would it be better to use separate op amps for each stage or use a dual op amp for each channel? Or could it even be possible to remove the primary amp and just use the amp that affects the eq?

I want a modular dap/dac/amp/battery. You can separate each of them individually. They plug in right on top of each other with no special connectors at the sides. Just a clip to hold them together.

- User chooses if mono or colored dap display.
- Anyone can choose either 1 or 2 DAC options
- DAC can either come with optical, coax, usb - buyer chooses
- Each version of amp can come in with different brand caps
- User chooses - standard, balanced, etc. and can mix and match DAC to the AMP.
- User chooses if standard or longer battery life.
