i think the only difference is that the 61 has an FM tuner. i might be wrong though. the amp is great. i play wav files on mine and it sounds superb. cant wait to get more cd's and stop this foolish itunes downloads.

pretty certain the X1060 has a FM tuner too

NWZ-X1060 (NWZX1060) : Technical Specifications : mp3 players and portable audio : Sony

so no idea of the difference - does it not just signify different market ? IE UK version is X1060 and US version is X1061 ?

I think this is correct, as far as I know the X1061 is the US version with Slacker radio, the X1060 is the EU version without the Slacker radio due to licensing restrictions.

Well I guess I must have the X1061 and not the X1060, because mine has FM radio. I never use it (or YouTube, the browser, video/photos,podcast), but I guess its nice to know its there.

They both have FM radio. The different numbers on the end just signify which country that particular model was released for

On a totally different note, this is the first post I ever made using my iPlop!

thanks soozieq - I thought it was a bit weird, but thats Head-Fi. One obscure post in a thread somewhere and pretty soon its 'common knowledge'.

Oh, they both have FM radio, I was talking about Slacker radio: Slacker Personal Radio - Listen to Free Internet Radio Stations

From wikipedia: "Slacker is a US-only interactive Internet radio service, available as a web player or a portable device. It allows users to create and share customized music stations starting with either Slacker's presets or a list of artists. In April 2009, the service had over 2.4 million songs, organized into over 100 programmed stations and 10,000 artist stations"
