Yeah I agree with this. I've had good luck with 0-feedback members so far; others have not been so lucky, and while I think that head-fi is a great community of mostly honest people, it is way too easy to stumble on via google search. Accessibility is generally a good thing but maybe not ideal for the FS forum.

As long as the user pays first I don't have a problem with their post count

But sometimes you're looking for something specific and it's either way overpriced elsewhere or it's only available via one of the fanatics on Head-fi. I agree with aj-kun, as long as the money gets to your account before you ship, what's the problem?

The problem is that there are paypal buyer scams as well as seller scams. Just because the money reaches your account doesn't mean it's going to stay there. It is possible that the buyer initiates a chargeback when they receive the item and lie about the item's status, condition, etc. Paypal usually takes the buyer's side so the seller can get badly screwed. I'm pretty sure paypal seller protection doesn't even apply unless you use a signed delivery method.

Thread Starter
Thanks all for opinions on both sides of the issue, other than opinions of simple paranoia on my part

If I want to sell gear I will place an advertisement.
I consider it strange to rude to be approached being asked to sell my wrist watch, auto or audio gear without an advertisement for the same, in years.

I am naive to most of the scams leading to loss over the net, so consider me concerned and protective, especially with having recently seen 3 charges added to my C.C. which were fraud charges, for which I gained remittances as redress.
So yeah, personal experience can make one seem to react as though, what to the uninitiated would seem to be simple paranoia . As they say, "Whatever"...
