Finally; NEW Massive Attack album "Heligoland" coming in Feb:

NEW ALBUM 'HELIGOLAND' IS COMING!


From their website:

"We're pleased to announce that the new Massive Attack album 'Heligoland' will be released February 8th 2010."

The tracklisting will be:

01. Pray For Rain
02. Babel
03. Splitting The Atom
04. Girl I Love You
05. Psyche
06. Flat Of The Blade
07. Paradise Circus
08. Rush Minute
09. Saturday Come Slow
10. Atlas Air

Have been looking forward to this for quite some time.

I'm sure it'll be good, but keep hoping for another Tracey Thorne track or two myself.

That's a nice voc list! However, it's hard for me to become very excited after Splitting the Atom.

This is bloody great news!

Isn't there a member missing from the voc list? By God, it's been so long since I listened to MA that I don't remember his name...he did nearly all the vocals for "100th Window". Dammit!

I just heard the track Paradise Circus.

insane! such good!


I don't even like Massive Attack that much to be honest (only ever owned Mezzanine) but maybe I will finally get into them with this record. definitely planning to buy it now

Oh no! I've just told myself to stop buying more albums for a while, and then this comes along to tempt me.

Blue Lines, Protection and Mezzanine all sound very different to me and I like em all - especially Mezzanine when I'm in a certain mood. This new track sounds different to all of them and I'm liking it very much.

The one I haven't tried is 100th Window - they seemed to lose some band members and the album got mixed reviews at the time. Am I missing out?

the entire album is pretty good.. but standouts for me are 1, 2, 4, 10. 10 is by far my favorite of the album.

I really like the song, yet it doesn't strike me ad triumphant, like say Machine Gun from that other Trip-hop act while back.

Maybe my expectations for Massive Attack are too high.
