I'm new to the forum, been doing lotsa lurking thought i'd sign up.
i recently inherited some old technics/jamo system, i suspect its purchase is mid 80s, anyways here are the specs
technics
amp/receiver SU-V6X (680w) (4 channel wooo)
graphic eq SH-8044
cd player SL-p555
tape deck rs-b66w
vinyl player CL-q210
tuner st-g5
dimension controller (wtf does this do?) sh-8040

(yes thats my pc in the hifi cabinet
)connected to 2 x jamo p365 speakers

atm i got the RCA IN my amp going to my sound card for fronts, and my logitech Z5400 as center/rear/sub. my sound cards an x-fi xtrememusic
although i can tell for certain its def not even with sound.
i was actually considering upgrading, considering on keeping the jamo and getting a 7.1 amp with optical out to run from my sound card to the amp. my concern is
a) too expensive
b) won't notice the difference (for gaming and 320kbps music strictly)
c) 3.5mm jacks and optical out has no difference
d) jamo speakers although seem great, are really crappy, and any ol bookshelf dalis would destroy them
gotta say i love the the graphic equalizer, so awesome to tune !
your thoughts would be great guys
