Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, been doing lotsa lurking thought i'd sign up.
i recently inherited some old technics/jamo system, i suspect its purchase is mid 80s, anyways here are the specs

technics
amp/receiver SU-V6X (680w) (4 channel wooo)
graphic eq SH-8044
cd player SL-p555
tape deck rs-b66w
vinyl player CL-q210
tuner st-g5
dimension controller (wtf does this do?) sh-8040

(yes thats my pc in the hifi cabinet )

connected to 2 x jamo p365 speakers

atm i got the RCA IN my amp going to my sound card for fronts, and my logitech Z5400 as center/rear/sub. my sound cards an x-fi xtrememusic

although i can tell for certain its def not even with sound.

i was actually considering upgrading, considering on keeping the jamo and getting a 7.1 amp with optical out to run from my sound card to the amp. my concern is
a) too expensive
b) won't notice the difference (for gaming and 320kbps music strictly)
c) 3.5mm jacks and optical out has no difference
d) jamo speakers although seem great, are really crappy, and any ol bookshelf dalis would destroy them

gotta say i love the the graphic equalizer, so awesome to tune !

your thoughts would be great guys

What computer case is that from Silverstone? Looks a lot like the Lian Li box.

Looks like a cool system to have. I'm bout to get my first Technics turntable. Dj wise I know Technics is just about the best with everything they put out, except cd/media players.

Hello there, i saw your posting, its old post but i thought to reply anyway, i design and make system from the start, build own speakers from start to end you name it.

My suggestion for going 5.1 system is just waste of Money, if you can afford it buy Denon or Marantz Reciever and dont use EQ with it, i have that EQ which you have and 6 others some Pioneer GR-777, in my testing if i connect my Reciever with the EQ i loose all the dynamics from the sound but if my Reciever is hooked up direct sound is crystal clear, this happens due to High bit rate conversion in the amp and wide Freq response which these eq dont have, feel free to contact me if you like if you have any Questions, God Bless.
