FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out - Page 9

Hey,

Jason - any actual benefit from clicking - 'expedited' shipping from amazon?

Scrooge - Merry Christmas!

Online forums don't really do a good job of conveying one's feeling properly as all we see is black and white, I'm sure yikes was just venting a bit, no biggie. As far as I can tell the next batch is coming in 2 more days; so perhaps you'll still get an invoice, or hopefully you don't end up with 2 of them haha.

Either way, it's in the hands of someone to follow up, that didn't happen as of yet - people are imperfect, they forget stuff, get too busy, etc. I'm sure they are doing the best that they can around the busiest time of the year.

After years of dealing with various vendors, they are never at top notch levels around this time due to the amount of people bombarding them all at once. Something tells me that Jan - Nov their customer service is considerably better as they have more time to deal with a normal flow.

Anyway, thanks for a great dac/amp for a great price - can't wait to get mine and am VERY interested in this HDP as it looks like a perfect upgrade to my EMU 0404USB

Any chance of a Christmas discount for us headfiers?
The man is building a $99 DAC that is getting rave reviews from several experienced Head-Fiers, working long days trying to fill orders, and you want him to give you a *discount* simply because you have posted 19 times on an internet forum ? BlackWheel, assuming you are in any way serious, I think there is such a thing as stretching the friendship.

I sent them an email and they said they would invoice me as well but I got nothing. I'm not mad tho, they are extremely busy esp since it is almost Christmas and this is a new product that just got a great review. If it is as good as the review says which I'm sure it is I don't mind waiting really.

and yes..$99 sounds like a bargain already so dont need to try to take advantage of them giving a good product already by trying to save a few bucks.

Black color uDAC is now back in stocks. red uDAC will be on sale for Monday (Dec 21) shipping starting on Friday. We ship by USPS Priority Mail (there is no need to pay for the expedite shipping method) for 2 to 3 days delivery. We know it is holiday time so your order will be shipped within a day (ignore the Amazon.com ship date ship is buffered for 1 to 2 days) or less.

There will be no discount on uDAC.

Someone guess it right about the DAC inside uDAC. After discussing with Casey, our R&D chief, we decided to spill it: uDAC is using the latest state of the art ESS9022 Sabre DAC, the same DAC used in top of the line OPPO BDP-83SE blu-ray player.

It takes more than a DAC to make a good sounding little gem. We have many high-end R&D projects, therefore R&D cost can be amortized across several products.

We should have priced it higher but decided to stick to $99, a good psychological price point. We hope this will become a standard companion for every laptop

If they had emailed me and said: Unfortunately at this time we don't have the infrastructure to have back-orders or Pre-orders, or even a notification list. I'd have been fine with that. When I emailed them asking if I could order one what they did email me is:

I expect companies to do what they say they will. It's the way I do business and I expect no less from the companies that I do business with. If you believe that doing what you have said that you would do is a small thing then you are destined to a lifetime of being satisfied with mediocre customer service. I suppose that there is some logic to that, if you set your expectations low, you'll never be disappointed.

I also explained why I felt that their customer service sucks. I put my complaint in context, so people could make informed judgments as to if my opinion matters to them. Since I explained the circumstances concerning my issue with their customer service it is wrong to say that I "bash a company's entire customer service quality"

That's all I'll say concerning your sycophantic post.

Now I'll apologize for the above. You can just call me Ebenezer Scrooge.
Wow, this is the most thoroughly annoyed I have ever been in these forums. I know an administrator will probably intervene, but until then...

You came off as a totally immature petulant kid throwing a tantrum. "Sycophantic?" What could I have gained from Nuforce just by saying what I said? When did giving positive feedback become sycophantic? You obviously lack the grace of rawrster, who doesn't throw a fit over a small matter. Yes, it's a small matter. Doing what you have said that you would do is only a small thing when the thing you said you would do, is small. If they had promised to, say, extend your warranty, then that would be something else completely. The only thing that I can agreed with you on is that Nuforce should have given you an invoice. Sure, that's not something to overlook. However, the fact that they failed to do this does not mean their customer service, as a whole, sucks. You are one of those neurotic people who sees one unfavorable aspect of a thing, then judges the whole thing by what he saw. Get over your entitlement attitude, and learn to be more appreciative. One last thing, einstein, everyone has limited cognitive abilities. Otherwise, we'd be God.

Hhahaha!!! This is the best wild guess I've ever seen

On the side note, the uDac was delivered at my PO Box. Will go to pick it up in a couple of hours.

I've dealt with crappy customer service before (some that have high quality products), NuForce is definitely NOT one of them.
