Acoustic Bands/Albums + Indie/Altern./Emo Recommendations

I'm looking for some more acoustic music,

I realize simply saying "acoustic" isn't being too specific so I'll give a few examples.

I'd like something sounding similar to Dashboard Confessional or something similar to John Mayer's 'Inside Wants Out' EP. I'm into the emotional feel of Dashboard Confessional as well as the semi-liad back sound of that John Mayer album.

Well I'm at it I may as well list a few more bands I'd like something similar sounding incase anyone can help me out.

Our Lady Peace, Incubus, 3 Doors Down, 12 Stones, The Exies, Foo Fighters, James Blunt, John Mayer (Acoustic records only), Jimmy Eat World, Weezer (The Blue Album).

Thanks in advance, I do have Last.fm but because rock isn't my most listened to genre I rarely receive accurate recommendations to deepen that genre of my music library.

I'm guessing if you listed Foo Fighters you have In Your Honor which has all acoustic on CD2, if not, I highly recommend it. I prefer it to CD1 any day.

try The Mountain Goats. All Hail West Texas is very good album, though lo fi recording (literally recorded on a boom box to cassette tape). Sunset Tree is another good album with higher fidelity.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

I do have 'In Your Honor'.

I'll check out The Mountain Goats now. One other acoustic artist I just discovered is Kevin Devine.

some artists I have on my acoustic playlist that you may be interested in are: Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, Mason Jennings, Ben Harper, G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter, Bright Eyes, Kings of Convenience.

you might also like Emiliana Torrini, Feist, Priscilla Ahn...etc. they are more along the lines of indie pop, but they do acoustic too and sound lovely.

You could try out some M.Ward with those suggestions, also Sondre Lerche too, if your tastes could accept a little weirder stuff, try out The Flaming Lips and or Iron and Wine.

Listen to Bon Iver's For Emma Forever Ago. One of my favourite releases this year. It is more alternative and sounds nothing like the bands mentioned but who knows, you might like it either way. Other acoustic stuff which might interest you is anti-folk. Stuff like Andrew Jackson Jihad, Ghost Mice and Defiance, Ohio (Can't really help here).

I Recommend:

The Starting Line (make yourself at home EP)
Straylight Run
The Spill Canvas
Hellsongs
