I know what you're probably thinking. "Oh no, not another gamer asking for a good headset." If that though crossed your mind, then you'll be sorely dissapointed. I've been lurking for awhile and am going to purchase a PS3 come this Christmas, and I've been looking for a good set of headphones. I read a thread in which the GX400s were mentioned (and regarded as being excellent for gaming, though one of the people was a Ety representative), but I can't use those due to strange side effects when using Canalphones. I could most likely use something similar to the AKG 340 earbuds which don't go deep inside the ear. And no, I don't use the headset in my sig anymore. It broke a long time ago, and it's not a product I'd buy again.
I've read in many a thread that the AD700s have very good positional audio, but I recently read (in the same thread where I learned about the GX400s) that the AKG K240 has good positional audio as well. Both of these are about the same price, and my budget is ~$150, $230 at the most. What I'm wondering is if there are another pair of headphpones out there that have better audio than these for a little bit more money. I have no preference for open, semi open, or closed. Whatever works the best is what I'll go with.
Id also like some help on the best way to connect a 3.5mm audio device to a PS3 which has no 3.5mm jacks. I have a D3 Python which I could use as a DAC, but I don't know if the PS3 will recognize the device if I plug it in. It is "plug and play" after all, but I'm not exactly sure.
