ER4S and 3rd Gen iPod Touch. Which Portable Amp? - Page 2

The Meier Move(1,2,3) complements the ER4S, well. It smoothens it out and gives it the much needed bass, while retaining its superb clarity and airness. The Supermacro IV LE is a close second, no longer an option. The P-51 just didn't add enough low end power to the ER4S compared to the Move. With the ER4S you want to pick an amp which is liquid smooth sounding, especially in the higher frequency range or it might hurt your ears. You also want an amp which complements the IEM on the bass department. Also more dynamic amp is good, since the ER4S is flat sounding, the iQube didn't work well with my Er4s. Goodluck.

i would say camp awhile more for Pico Slim to come out, if u can, get the first 100, unlimited lifetime warranty, unlimited free battery. what could be better.
If u can't, at least u have another great amp added into the list of consider-ables.
Afterall, Pico was a great amp, who knows what Pico Slim can do =D

The ER4S are meant to be amped, or am I being thick? I definitely have to amp mine from my iPod Classic, otherwise they sound way too weedy and underpowered. They work a treat with my Headsix but have put an order in for an Arrow this week as its just too tempting and sexy looking.

Same here, with the new Classic. I am using an RSA SR71-A, which works swell with ER4S (or anything else for that matter). They just do not cut it un-amped.
