Has anyone seen The Prisoner remake on AMC TV with Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen?
Thoughts?

I have a hard time imagining Jim Caviezel living up to Patrick McGoohan, even with a fine actor like Sir McKellen in a supporting role.

It made me want to dig out my 1967 Prisoner DVD boxed set - it (the new one) was well enough done for what it was but it was a long way from Patrick McGoohan's vision and I think even dafter than the original, er imo of course and excepting Fallout and the girl who was death . I also think (number) 6 was just not unmutual enough as well.

Agreed. Jim is very wooden and not like No. 6 at all.
Ian McKellen would've made a good No. 2 back in the day.

Have they re-run the whole series over there? Episode for episode? Bloody hard act to follow. I've stayed in the 'Village' for a holiday. It was wierd. (Portmeirion in Wales)

That means the Brits may see it in a year or so.

It (the 67 series) is available on cable (on-demand) over here, in the colonies, the missus and I are going to be back in the old country over Xmas and I was hoping to take a day trip to Portmeirion ... Wales in Winter, does it get any better

In my experience Wales in winter was the same as Wales in summer...

After staying in Portmeirion, we hit sheet water on the way home. I have never seen rain like it except in Florida when a hurricane hit us. There were two main differences though -
a) In Florida, the rain was parallel to the ground. (Sideways)
b) The wind ....

In Wales -
a) Straight down
b) No wind but the drops were the size of golf balls

I nearly drowned.

Portmeirion in snow (If you get it) - Beautiful.
