Does anyone here are making time-lapse video ? What gear and software do you use ?

I began making time-lapse video a few yeas ago; when a coworker asked me to write a software that take picture from a video feed on a computer. I'm now using this little program at home filming things that move slowly.

I posted 2 videos on youtube and currently making one about a rotting big mac

Time lapse is cool
I want to do things the other way around sometime, film things that explode or crash or whatever high at speed and play them back slowly
Its both fun

I made this video with a Canon 50D Digital SLR, loaded all the images in to iMovie and boom, done.

That's my dog in the video, had to put him down on the 10th of this month.
