ideas for portable amp cases??

I've strapped my amp to my ipod carrying case with electrical tape, not so handsome. Can I get some ideas as to what really works for carrying around the rig while walking, riding bike, and so on?

I have several amps and I know I could easily stick my Fiio in my pocket with the nano and put in some good IEMs and call it good, but its hard for me to do that because Im spoiled, I admit it. its hard to change to Fiio when I've just been blissfully listening to other bigger amps. Plus, i bought and burned in a new Microshar u109 amp because there were no reviews on it here so I thought id give it a good listen and post a modest review of it. This thing is sizable though, and I'd like to be able to find a better way, and more attractive way of carrying the thing along. Same issue with my other amps.

I like the little straps in the pictures that I see come with the iqube, how do those work?

What works for you all?

rubber bands and a jacket pocket. If you want go the case way search for jaben.net

i went thru this recently as well. i ended up buying a number of camera bags, which come in a number of sizes, and either with shoulder straps or belt loops, for various carry/attach options.

cases/bags designed for small point-and-shoot cameras will hold a small pmp, amp, and iems, with a battery or two.....

larger bags for dslrs or small video cameras will hold lots 'o stuff, but still are relatively small.

tins for altoids, playing cards, pipe tobacco, and tea can be good cases for iems and such-like as well.

camera shops, amazon, best buy and the like are good places to shop. It's a bit easier for me to do the hands-on than to buy from a photo online, but i have done both.

the mass-market ones are readily available and cheap. the pro photographer stuff is a bit more $$$, but may be worth it to you, if you find one you really like.

you could use blu tak to couple amp and player, or some foam, double-sided tape (less removable).

don;t even ask what i schlep around on a daily basis!

Velcro is my main tool. I always use the softer side on the music source and the harsher side for the amps, then I can switch easily.

Glass cases work well. It is easy to dump the player and phone cords in, they snap shut and are usually hard sided.

Finally, the HeadRoom mini cases has been a favorite of mine for years. Very good belt clip and well made.

Great ideas! Thank you so much. I didn't even think about the camera cases, that was the most helpful to me, thanks FZ. That would be perfect because it is the only thing that would actually come with straps. That is my big thing, I want to be able to move freely when I have the rig on. I can sometimes stuff most of the rigs in my pocket but I dont like the way it sometimes pinches the cables ( I spent a lot of money on those damn things). I don't mind spending money on the cases, though. I was considering going to a custom leather shop and have something custom made. I will definitely check out camera cases first.

I've tried velcro before but I just don't feel that it is secure enough for me, I worry about my precious little amp falling out. Its still has its applications, but I really need something that not only attaches the amp to the ipod, but the amp/ipod to me without worry. i have tried taking those ipod wrist straps and tightening the brick in where the wrist would go and thenAndattaching it to a belt loop or something, but it bounces around to much when I bike, which i do alot. . I will check out the headroom clip you talked about, though.

my coat pockets only work in the winter, of course and thank you for the jaben website recommendation, but it doesnt appear that their ampsack attaches to your body in any way

Again, many thanks. great suggestions.
