Time for a new IEM- Your advice? ER4p to ?

Hello,
I have a pair of er4p's currently. They really are a wonderful set of IEM's. I have had them for awhile and am really looking for a bit of a change. They are a bit sterile and cold at times. Yeah - my seal is good.
I am looking for something with equal isolation. But, with a warmer sound while not losing clarity. Something with more emphasis in the lower frequency's as well. I'm almost thinking a Grado IEM . I might be asking too much. lol
What do you think? Any suggestions?

Thanks so much,
Todd

Depends on your budget. But if you're really looking for a good seal and great bass I would say the Westone 3s. If not, then IE8.

RE0? Similar sound, maybe a bit warmer. Much cheaper, esp. now. Isolation isn't as good, but not many are better (although I find the q-jays with comply tips to be close). The RE0 with a double flange does a decent job at isolation are much more comfortable than Ety to boot.

nothing will have the same isolation as the ER4, with the possible exception of custom IEMs, because nothing goes as deep into the ear canal.

i just upgraded from the ER4, after about 5 years as a contented owner, to the Westone UM3X. i was basically looking for the same thing as you: something that was a bit more engaging and musical without losing that detail.

i think the UM3X are pretty much exactly that. they're slightly warmer, with similar treble extension if just a tad bit recessed. the mids and bass are liquid and full of texture, something the ER4 is missing, and the midrange detail is absolutely outstanding.

i find that if i want that Ety sparkle, i can get close to it by EQing the treble on the UM3X just a touch.

also, when amped the UM3X go to another level... everything opens up wide and falls into place.

the trick with them is to find the right tips and insertion depth. the Comply foam sleeves that come with it are, in a many users' opinions, quite bad. they congest the sound and make the highs sound muffled.

not everyone has had the same experience with the UM3X, however. mark2410 didn't find them to his liking at all.

UM3x x 2. Westone 3 will disapoint you. REO is a downgrade. You will not find better isolation than the ER series but the UM3x is certainly be your best bet for the sound sig it offers.

I'll second the UM3X suggestion provided your source does not hiss cause they pick any noise up
