Yah I was and will still run with the olives. They are quite hard to take out by hand, I use the flat head on a swiss army knife to put a little leverage between the plastic core and the aluminum nozzle edge. Then I gently wiggle the flathead and pull the olive sleeve, and they slowly slide off.

These are by far the best single BA earphones I've heard, and they are better than many dual BAs too. I think you really need to step up to a good triple BA w/crossover to beat the performance of the X5. Nearly flat response, with a nice taught bass.

The small housing is a huge + too.

Btw, the pimeta is still going strong!
Hey Steve, good to hear. Like Ucrags84 suggested, they really benefit from the Shure Olives - have you tried using them? I have a few extra unused pairs lying around. If you want a pair, your welcome to them.

So I've finally found the perfect combo for my oddly shaped ears. My left ear canal is dissimilar to my right one. So I'm using a full on large olive for that one, right ear has a medium-sized olive.

I just ordered a pack of Large Olives because the ONE single I have now is from a fit kit, missing the other one. Want to see if a large would give a better seal in the R ear. This is absolutely the best noise attenuation I have gotten with an IEM, I can still hear some things, but this cuts nearly everything out.

Oh yeah, sound-stage got a little wider as the fit improved too and tamed the treble.

Man I really need to try these with Olives. Anyone here find a fix, or replace the cables to something with less microphonics?
