Seriously, if people don't stop condoning this kind of behaviour by companies, they'll just keep going about scamming customers or permitting them be scammed. The ball is in your court, so to speak.

So that was what was on my credit card few months ago. My wife checks our credit bills very carefully each month before we pay our balances. We usually pay off our credit card bills full each month and she noticed one odd transaction which we couldn't figure out. After few phone inquiries, we found out this company charged our credit card when I responded to "free shipping" option but I don't remember agreeing to any contract. So when I called their operator and complaint about it, they immediately dropped the monthly charge without any question but the operator surely tried to pursuade me to stay with their "promotion" benefit.

At the end of this rather unethical business practice, I ended up paying more than "free shipping" I got from that order. We just need to be more careful when we do business online. And thanks for this important warning, Pangea.

Got hit with this scam back a few months ago through Fandango.. grr..
$15 may not seem like a lot at first, but unnoticed through several months, it stacks up and gets pretty annoying

The one with the bread and the tomato sauce? Yeah, I love that one too.

It's hard to find stuff that surprises you these days on the internet; duping people into having them give you money every month? Expected. A bunch of respected companies doing it? Not as much.

What was that old saying my dad used to tell me, "Son, a fool and his money are soon... Well, broke as s***"

My mother had something like this charged to her card for like 6 months, it was only when i came home between semesters that i found out and got on the horn to cancel it for her, it was such a pain in the ass, at one point i thought it might just be easier to cancel the card and get a new CC number issued for my mother.
