though it might sound boring in this forum, I will never forget the first time I listened to a pair of Senn HD580s for the first time through a Sony integrated amp. It was an audio-life changing experience forever. I had never listened to music this way before. I remember cranking rage against the machine (the album) as well as spinning some Tori Amos, Guns N Roses and lots of other music. I listened for hours on end. I was only looking for a 20-30 euro pair of headphones to listen with my Sony D-25 pcdp and stumbled on a HD580 pair of 580s for 30 euro... So I bought them without known their new price back then which was like 20 times this amount..

So first time of hi-fi headphone listening was great for me!!

ASSUMING WE'RE TALKING ABOUT FIRST TIMES WITH HEADPHONES...for me it would have to be the first time I listened to the Yamaha YH-1's after billinkansas had modded them. After I picked my jaw off the floor, I settled in to listening to some string quartet music off vinyl, and thru Bill's tubed Fisher receiver. I could actually hear how fast or slow the bows were being pulled across the strings. Awesome.

My first experience with my Stax rig should be memorable, but too many years ago...
