iBasso D10 questions

I am awaiting delivery of a D10. My first headphone amp....an exciting time.

Two questions have arisen:

Can the D10 handle Pandora One sound from a computer? It is streamed at 192kbs. Don't know the bit level. I know that 192 isn't audiophile quality but I enjoy the variety of Pandora programming.

Can someone point me to a resource that tells one how to roll op amps in the D10 and how to order op amp Topkits by HiFlight described in many threads?

Thanks much,

Ray

congrats on your D10.

for rolling opamp check this thread page below:

that thread is pretty much all about D10, the mods, topkits etc. it's a long one so finding stuff in it might be difficult at times.
as for buying topkits, just PM hiflight for what combination you want and he will tell you what to do.

I'm not sure what pandora one is so sorry can't help you with that. however, if it's a radio streaming, it should work just fine once you connect the d10 to your computer. sometimes I listen to the radio with itunes + D10. sounds much better

Thanks for the reply.

Pandora One is the paid version of Pandora internet radio. $36 per year. 192kps stream.
If one doesn't need Hi Fidelity for everything one can pair it with PandoraJam ($15 program) which records the Pandora songs right into iTunes. Easy to build a continuously varied song list for working out, trying new artists etc.

Yeah, it will work for sure. 192kbps only means the information the encoder are using to store sound information per second, it doesn't matter at all with the d10 capabilites but your music decoder/player.

You only have to know that your "audio" limits are 24bits/96kHz max from the optical and 16bit/48kHz from the USB (acting the D10 as a Sound Card). I suppose you'll be using 44kHz most of the time.

Rolling opamps is easy. They literally pop out of their sockets and you push the new one down. You kind of have to 'rock' them back and forth to get them out. A long pair of tweezers helps.

Your D10 will come with the appropriate tool to open it up. FYI: the volume knob does not come off. Push from the coax input on the back and the whole thing will slide out.

ermm the volume knob does come off, but you do not as you say, need to take it off. just watch you dont bend the leds on their leads when you have it out; or they wont line up with their holes when you slide it back in; this isnt a problem if you remove the covers.
