ibasso D4 question on DAC chips

I saw ibasso D4 using "Dual Wolfson WM8740 DAC Chip + TI PCM2706", but PCM2706 is a USB chip with DAC inside. I checked spec for PCM2706 and could find the digital pin on it. How these three chips configured?

BTW, is D4 has socket for OPA rolling?

yes

you can change the opamps in the D4...no idea how the chips are configured...what I do know is that it has Dual DACs, one DAC per channel and it sounds fantastic!

Thanks for help

It's good to know we can roll OPA in D4 ! Any suggestion on result of rolling OPAs in D4 yet?

Further reading on PCM2706 spec, I found following data from TI and I guess it used as I2S interface, am I right?

Lucky you; I'm closer to China and on the same schedule but I am off the beaten path and still waiting...

Edit; not on the same schedule as it is still in China! Did you pre-order yours from the manufacturer with the upgraded tube?

yes the Ti chip is configured as USB receiver. not i2s, but spdif AFAIK. shipping from ibasso is usualy very quick. USB 1.1 is about as good as you are going to get with just about all usb audio devices. special (and expensive) codecs must be licensed to allow usb 2

this is good to know, considering im thinking that the usb dacs on all these portables might sound too similar,,

considering replacing my predator with a d4 or i qube as a portable dac,, but only if the usb dac's on said portables will sound better than the predator dac?
