Anyone else gag when brushing their teeth?

Thread Starter
For the last 5-10 years (I'm 28 now) I get a pretty bad gag reflex when brushing the teeth at the far back of my mouth. I never used to have this problem when I was younger.

I'm so used to it buy now it doesn't bother me that much but my gf thinks it disguisting and I've even puked on occasion . What's weird is my older brother has the same thing, my dad too I think.

It's hilarious when you ask my 2 year old nephew: "what sound does daddy make in the bathroom in the morning?" and he does the gagging sound.

I think it's more a psychological problem than a physiological one I find it strange how I didn't have this problem when I was younger though.

Anyone else experience this?

It used to happen to me quite a bit, but never to the extent of full on vomiting. Guess my college side-job paid o... never mind.

You're not supposed to brush your tonsils.

No hold your tongue with both hands, then use your third hand to brush your teeth.

Spray the back of your throat with Chloroseptic mouth numbing spray if nothing else works.
