I need an excuse to buy toys

So here's the thing, I've saved a bit of spending money this past month and I'm itching to blow it all on toys. Unfortunately, there's that (pfft) rational part of my brain telling me to squirrel it away for a rainy day. Having recently paid for roof and plumbing repairs, this argument is reasonably strong. On the other hand... I really want to buy some new gear.

This is where you guys come in: I'm easily susceptible to peer pressure. Tell me what I want to hear. What "excuses" do you tell yourself when you want to buy new toys?

According to quite a few theories, that's pretty much it. Even if we do reincarnate, I for one don't remember who the hell I was last time around...= /

....and who knows if you're going to be into audio the next time? Carpe Diem, indeed.

Set yourself a budget for toys, a separate account for them (I use PayPal for this purpose) and set up your checking account to automatically transfer your "pocket money" to it every month. This will allow you to indulge in a responsible way. You will find satisfaction delayed is often satisfaction enhanced.

If you do splurge (I did so myself on a Leica M9), dock your allowance to repay your savings.

The date itself ofcourse still exists, there will not be an apocalypse.

1. Any of us could be dead tomorrow/next week (depending on how long shipping will take ). why not enjoy it now?
2. I'll just sell some old gear to make up for it.
