Is my Pico DAC defective?

post #1 of 11

After a few hours (1-3) of listening to music/etc, my PICO starts emitting white noise from one side of my headphones, which does not go away unless i disable it for about 2 minutes or completely unplug it, which is, quite honestly, very annoying.

ive emailed Justin about this but there's been no reply, any suggestions to what might be causing the problem?

Sounds like a re-clocking issue, where upon unplugging resets it.

Hi,

What do you mean "disable it for about 2 minutes or completely unplug it". How would you disable it besides unplugging it?
HeadAmp Audio Electronics - the latest in headphone amps & DACs for home and portable listening.

Someone mentioned that early iBasso amps are susceptible to RF noise - its a long shot, and I've never seen anything mentioned about the PICO, but its all I can think of.

I really hope this is a one-off : I am hoping that the PICO DAC-only will eventually find a home at my place.

Through the control panel, by going to sound and disabling the device. only reason i thought of this, is because unplugging it would mean id have to restart all my programs ;-;
