FS: big earphone sale: Triple.Fi 10 Pro, SE530PTH, IE8, UM3X

Update: 11-28-09

Ok second update on this. The slow sale has let me fiddle with the earphones again and evaluate my personal listening experience goals again. I am tossing the Triple.Fi 10 Pro back into the right as well as the Westone UM3X. I am taking out the OK1. For the end goal I want to achieve with these earphones, the OK1 does it best.

  • All earphones and tips used have been wiped down with alcohol.
  • All items will be sold with all of their original retail packaging, instruction manuals, accessories, etc. The pictures below show all items included. The TF10 comes with the addition of a 3 pack (s/m/l) of Comply T-500 tips.
  • All of these earphones are in relatively new condition. The TF10 was purchased new a month or so ago. All other earphones were purchased used from other forum members but were all of relatively short use.
  • The IE8 has roughly 40 hours of use. I feel it is adequately burned in. It came to me still slightly stiff.

I think that covers any key points. If you have any additional questions, ask.

A pre-emptive note on pricing. The way I sell items I do not typically negotiate pricing. The price listed is the price being sold at. This is just how I do things. On the rare occasions I do allow for haggling, I will put OBO after the price to indicate a negotiable sale. I typically do this for items of little or unknown value or for items that have a wide selling range. Will I lower the price? Yes, but it might be in a month or two if things just don't sell. I will adapt to the market, but I change slowly. I will note I am making no profit on these sales. Whatever deals I manage to come across in my own en devours, I do pass along to the successive owner. If I managed to grab a $400 earphone for $50 through some crazy no reserve auction, I will sell that earphone at no benefit to me.

Shipping

The shipping method will be USPS Priority, bubble wrap envelope (all items already boxed in their respective retail packaging), and insured for the selling price. The method is simple, cost effective, and transit times are quite short typically. If you prefer other shipping methods, let me know, and we can adjust the sale to fit. I do not mind shipping worldwide. It will again be USPS using their Express international. The sale price will be adjusted to fit the shipping rate and you will be expected to pay any and all import/customs costs into your country.

Yeah, I do. I basically buy a pile of them that I'm interested in, try them all out, compare and contrast in relation to my personal preferences, and then keep the one that best fits what I'm looking for. Online reviews/comments only get you so far. In the end I still find I just have to "demo" everything. It wasn't so bad in the past, but something like this basically ties up a grand in limbo until I decide and sell off the rest. It's a good approach to get exactly what you want without question (no grass is greener on the other side thinking), but it's a little hard on the wallet unless you're comfortable holding that value in something other them cash. That's not something everyone is willing to do.

I have no personal intention to hold onto a large array of earphones just to own them. Originally I was thinking about keeping my OK1, but I see less of a need to do so. I may eventually invest in a good full-sized headphone and settle on a stationary and a portable setup. Right now I'm just settling down to the one best fit for me. That just happened to be the UM3X for the specific characteristics and trade-offs I chose.

Small note, there's been numerous interest in the SE530. The line for it is 3-4 deep (depending...) at the moment.

Half laziness, half that they vary so very much depending on how you tune them and wear them. It's a product I would feel better about reviewing only after a lengthy use simply because you can do so much with them to change the sound. I could only give some short impressions of them and some comments on the tuning. I did make a thread about it a little while ago and commented in that thread some on some initial impressions. I would review it if I used it longer, but I don't feel I have adequate knowledge of them at this time to right a proper review.

Darnit... If only I had dough ready to begin with... I'd save like $250 over local pricing of the IE8, but sadly I don't have the $290 to begin with... *cry*

Oh well... Back to waiting for my FA Eternas... Free bump for great IEMs...

I will note that I do use a queuing system, first come first serve, but I do expect prompt action (couple days from inquiry to payment to allow for time for shipping/pricing inquiries). If you are too casual about the sale, I will let the next person in line have it. I have had multiple interest in all but the OK1 as it's a bud and not $30 . The lines for the SE530, IE8, and SA6 are getting long. There has been no payments as of yet, just inquiries on shipping cost. I will try to go through people as orderly and timely as possible. No sales are final until payment though. Individuals inquiring will have "dibs" on the product in accordance with their placement in line and only for a couple days(to allow question/response time). After that, you lose the "dips" and the sale is open to who pays first. It'll give you a chance to decide, but it will also give serious buyers a timely sale. There are always a LOT of casual lookers and very few actual individuals that are greatly interested. That's sort of how this stuff goes, so despite a line, inquire anyways. Chances are most in front of you are the casual lookers. It's just unfortunate that I do have to give everyone due time during the process so they can get questions answered and payment set up. Just be patient.

No. I am the original owner of only the OK1 and TF10. All other earphones were purchased used, and as far as I'm aware, I am the second owner of all of them. The SE530 was essentially new to me as it was a new warranty replacement for the previous owner, unused by him as far as I'm aware. The IE8 had 30 hours on it when I got it and wasn't even fully broken in yet. The SA6 was bought I think about a half year ago and used some but not heavily. The OK1 is the only "old" product at around a year or so. Everything is in 100% working condition and pretty much like new with no scratches, wear, or anything. They all have their original packaging, documentation, and accessories. The SE530 even has its original receipt to boot. I technically have the original receipt of the OK1 lying around too and can include it if you desire although its price has never changed and would be out of its standard 1 year warranty now anyways.
