let us know your comparison. I sold my RS21's because the tone on electric guitars was off compared to my MS1's. Interested to know how the RS1's sound.

Well, probably it's just these two things that differ. (Wood and cable.)
It's amazing, however that the asked price nearly doubles for nearly nothing in return.

Even more intresting was my experience by comparing Grado SR1 with Grado SR80.
I could make quick changes as both cans were connected al the time.
Very open and lively sound, but price-difference appr 8:1
Nope, I was half-deaf this time too...

Maybe MF X-can isn't capable of sorting out these differences?..

/Strmbrg,
Quick comparisons like that are never very revealing. Many people expect that because a product costs 7x more, you should get 7x more sound.

You don't. Diminishing returns kick in. Personally, I think you hear the most noticeable differences in sound quality up in the $50-400 range.

Those two phone present music very similarly, and the differences will not be hugely noticeable to those unfamiliar with the product. But if you listen to both phones exclusively for a period of time, the differences are clear. The devil is in the details and you're paying for clarity and subtlety.

It doesn't make the more costly phone poor value, but people are prepared to pay a premium to extract details and nuances and fill the sound out.
