My newest cable creation... what do you think? (56K)

Headphone cable... if I score the HF-1 I'm looking at then I'll put it on that, if not, I'll probably sell it or wait to put it on another pair of cans, my SR225i has great cable as-is. Anyway, I love how it turned out.

Made with Mogami W2534, ViaBlue splitter and 1/4" plug, and of course, TechFlex! This was a fun build, and my first headphone cable, so be nice! Any recommendations/constructive criticism are quite welcome.

Looks very nice! Congrats!

How long are your leads after the split though? They appear a little on the short side in the photo.

Yep, that's the only thing I am kind of disappointed about. The leads after the split are pretty short, but certainly long enough to be wearable. I didn't think that part out well enough as I should have.

Nice. I love the look of the viablue connectors. Some people have said that the viablues are a pain in the butt to work with. Did you find it difficult to deal with at all LingLing1337?

Don't sweat it. More often than not, actually making the mistake is the best way to learn the lesson.

Meh, it wasn't so hard to solder. Much easier than the right angle Switchcrafts I was working with earlier. The only thing that really irked me was that I couldn't use the strain relief built into the plug (wire was too thick.) The solder points are set up in a weird way, but it's easy enough to work with.

That makes me wonder if I could squeeze the 18ga wire I'm using for my 650 cables into one of those connectors. Four strands barely fit into the neutrik connector I have now. I never did get the thing screwed together all the way.

18 AWG? I admire your resolve

LingLing, that cable looks great. I should really get around to making cables at some point. I love how a little money and an attention to detail will get a you a cable that the normal person would assume costs the big bucks.

^I just totalled it up (I'm selling this at parts cost) and it was $28 for the whole thing!!! What a bargain! It is so fun making these cables too.

Thank you PJ!

EDIT: By the way, I just sold the cable at parts cost to Between the Ears in Canada, so I'll post the pics when he installs it.

I know nothing about cables, other than they're responsible for carrying the signal. But it does look pretty!
