UE 11 versus JH 13

Has anyone done a comparison of the UE 11 versus the JH 13 headphones. I am interested in hearing people's opinions regarding the two. I have the UE 11 but am contemplating the JH13. Is it worth the money or not.

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

I upgraded from UE11 to JH13.

UE11 have more bass all around.

JH13 has the bump in the sub bass to increase bass feeling and impact, but the bass never gets anywhere near "in the way" of the other frequencies. JH13 also has better defined mids/highs. I believe the JH13 has much improved transient response all throughout the spectrum, so they seem to resolve more detail.

Is it worth $1k+ for a bit better sound than the UE11? That's up to the buyer, but I, for one, am very happy with the improvement.

Thanks guys.

I think I've raised enough funds to purchase the JH 13s for xmas present.

Headphoneaddict has done a very thorough review on the comparison between UE11, ES3X and JH13Pro. Search it.

How is soundstaging with iems like these? All in your head or?

UE11 has great soundstage, but I feel the JH13 is a clear step ahead. The added accuracy/clarity seems to give the JH13 a soundstage that competes with the best full-size headphones.

Of course, the are still IEMs, so they don't involve the outer ear... By this virtue, they do inject the sound directly down the canal, and you do lose a certain sensation that full-size headphones can give you... But they do render a strikingly clear sound with a wide, convincing soundstage nonetheless.

I'm not understanding how you are saying the JH13 is more expensive than the UE11? JH13 is $1099 and the UE11 is $1150. Am I missing something?

From what I have read, unless you want the super bass of the UE11, why not go JH13?

He already has UE11 and now is thinking about buying another 1k$ customs.

boomana had ue-11's and got jh-13's as well and it seems to be that she didn't regret doing it

HPA has ES3X first and then bought the JH13. He didn't regret doing as well.

I own both UE11 and JH13 and the 13's are on another league, one well above. For me everything is better with the JH13: more sub bass impact, better balance, much better transient response, transparency. But where the 13's really outperform the UE11 is in terms of imaging: man I can hear with so much accuracy where each player is standing, the instrument separation is awesome.

I know they are different, however do they provide better detail, bass, vocal and treble over Sennheiser HD800 and Stax SR-007 mk2 ?

Exactly. I thought I'd keep my UE11s as my back up pair, but since I was never using them, I just sold them. The 11s are still excellent iems, and had I had heard th JH13s, I would have been content. Just goes to show......
