I just arrived here in Singapore at the airport and I am able to get into this website now. BTW, if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do here today, let me know since I have no clue what / where to go. I'm free all day/night.

Anyway, I would like to decide on this iPod Touch redemption thing very very soon. Some of the changes like the voice activation sounds very enticing. Makes it so that you can activate changes while the Touch is still in your pocket. You just need to speak into the mic, at least that's what it sounds like.

Could anyone confirm whether the SQ on the 3rd generation has improved significantly from the preivous models?

Cheers!

It's short and to the point, but couldyou provide any of your reasons. Bullet point wouldbe fine if you are short on time.

Thanks.
Sorry for the short reply. I have the 2G nano, 3G nano and the IPod Touch 8GB version and don't think that their SQs are good enough. The IPod is depreciating pretty rapidly hence I don't think it's the best to trade the airmiles for the IPod. Incidentally, I like travelling a lot hence I think the joy of using airmiles for travelling would be much more everlasting than of trading an IPod.

My 2 cents.

Hey GL, no problem and thanks for filling in the blanks.

From what I've read, the 32GB and the 64GB 3G Touch are supposed to have improved SQ. More than like, still not as good as the other MP3 players that I've been considering, but I am hoping that I will get use out of the various apps and particularly the wifi. I play ice hockey here in Hong Kong and the rink where I play is in a huge shopping mall complex that has wifi throughout the building so I am hoping to make use of that too.

I hear you about the lack of value that you get on airmiles with respect to the Touch, or for that matter, just about any electronic goods. But since I moved to HK about ten months ago and will not be back there for at least another few years, the rewards wil keep diminishing as time goes so by the time I go back, I will be able to get a $25 Metro coupon. And redeeming for travel at this time is not as easy since I would be departing from HK and most of the airmile travel packages are Canadian based.

And now to my update post...

I did it!

OK, so now for the update.

In order to get the Touch delivered and in the hands of my friend that will be coming to visit me in 3.5 weeks, I had to redeem earlier this week and that is what I ended up doing. My alternatives were to buy a used D2+, which I was really close to doing, or buying a new Clip+. I had these airmiles sitting around, so I figured that I may as well use them up instead.

Now you're going to see me post some Touch threads asking all kinds of questions.

Cheers!
