I'm looking to buy a pair of alessandro ms1s here in japan which is fairly priced. Anyhow, I've previously owned a pair of sr125s and I was impressed with how it sounded when paired with a cmoy amp connected to a lineout... right now I'm stuck with a notebook with onboard sound with no lineout so, I was thinking of getting one of those portable dac/amps that connect via USB and I was wondering if Fireye IIs fared well when coupled with a pair of Grados/Alessandros. I'm looking in the $100-150 range and it seems that Xonar U1 or Fireye II are good candidates but unfortunately I haven't found any threads linking either components to Grados... so, could anyone give me some opinions on this including possible alternatives... I need this to work for my notebook.
