removing heatshrink?

I made a DIY cable for my hd580's but now seems like sound is shorting when i move in certain directions. I think I want to open up the cardas connectors and check connections and then epoxy it but they are covered in adhesive heatshrink. what's the best way to get the heatshrink off?

slide an xacto flat into the gap between the shrink n the cable and delicately twist and slit the heat shrink... after that you shud be able to tear it apart......

Heatgun may loosen the adhesive enough to to work on it.

Did you not glue the connector the first time around? An exacto should open it up (Unless you really heated up the shrink, the adhesive can be peeled off usually) but if you glued it up the first time around (As is recommended), I don't think it would help much to cut it open.

yeah, i didn't glue it up the first time, which is why the connections came loose. i ended up heating it and that loosened it enough to peel off pretty easily. thanks all
