Rank the IEM's you've heard - Page 50

post #736 of 853

Senn IE 800

Sony XBA H3, a close 2nd, make that very close.

Sony EX-90. Still get's pleasant use.

Sony EX 41. As above.Less so.

Sony XBA-1. In last place, but has a honeyed one dimensional tone that's quite pleasing on occasion.

The Senn 300ii was a fake but was quite warm all the same.

UE900> RE0 > R-50 > BA200> GR07> UE600 ~ SE215> CX200

Only had brief listening experience with UE900.

Interestingly, tested the SE215 (SGD$199) and the RE0 (SGD $128) at the same time, when I was looking for an upgrade from the UE600s. Found the RE0s to be more to my liking (my wallet agrees) :p Lucky I went for the RE0s

Only listened to the IE80s for a short while. If I were to rank em, it'll be somewhere between the R-50 and BA200

i agree with the ue900. They are quite amazing actually and a 100 bucks cheaper then the likes of the w4r. And the 535..with the ie80's they do get better with more break in.. Imo of course.. I've got rid of quit a few earphones either sold or traded. But I have kept the ie80's.. Nice to put them on and just enjoy the music without having to think to much if that makes sense lol

Lets make it more legit. I'm only putting in the ones that I've owned for at least 3wks, and only universal iems.

In terms of personal preference:

1. SE535

2. MDR7550

3. BA200

4. GR07

5. H-200

6. FXZ200

In terms of technical capability(imo)

1. H-200, BA200. BA200 just has unbelievable capability. H-200 is good, but I hated the harsh tuning.

2. SE535, MDR7550, GR07. Tier #2 is almost identical to tier 1. Just slightly less clarity.

3. FXZ200. Lots and lots of bass, but not really clear, and the tuning was messed up imo.

Once EQed:

1. MDR7550

2. SE535

3. BA200

4. GR07

5. FXZ200

6. H-200(The peak and dip is so bad, that only 20 band equalizer can fix it properly).

IMO, I really like how hybrids like H3, H-200, and DN1000 have very good clarity, I feel as though they absolutely suck at turning them. I'm sorry. I just really hate all hybrids besides K3003i, and I don't really like the K3003i that much either. It sounds absolutely harsh and has dips and peaks everywhere in the mids. I want some hybrids with serious mids.

I've got some crazy impression about Sleek Audio SA7.
So now i want universals of Heir Audio and Unique Melody, i don't have experience with any of them, but i feel that i should like some of their models.

So now BA:
ER4S(only amped)>>SA7>=UM3x>>W4(with right tips)>>ER4P==SE535
Dynamics:
IE800>>Monster Gratitude>=RE272>>RE600>=IE80
