I am pretty sure I got a good seal and nothing blocked the bass port. I do find the IE 800 bright... Or is it it didn't get enough burn-in? O.o I actually spent more time on looking at this tiny little IEM than actually trying it. I was supposed, to try it longger but the bright highs is just too piercing to me. I took it off after half of the song played.

Interesting. I guess you found the highs to be too harsh. I was disappointed with them too. It's ridiculously priced. I get that Senn is trying to compete with AKG3003 and Ultrason Tio, but AKG3003 destroys the IE800.

There are lots of other iems that were far brighter than the IE800, such as the Audio technica ck100pros.

Now those ain't cheap either.

My advice, if ur going to get into the ie800 sound, is to let it do its brain burn.

Yeah...Do you know a place that has a larger selection of portable amps?

I don't in Korea. Sony store in coex has a PHA-1 though. Very good amp that has a dac that is compatible with idevice, computer, and android. Maybe yongsan has a place to demo amps?

And after some of the most intense listening I've done since getting into the head-fi scene, my new and improved ranking is...

W4 (wow!) > UE900 (too neutral) >> GR07 (great bang for the buck) = PFE 132 (still testing) > FXT90 (great sound, bad microphonics) >> XBA 3 (touch too sibilant) = B2 (bass-lacking) > MD Tribute (a little boomy) > SE215 (also, great bang for the buck) = A151 (a little bass-lacking also) > Turbine (eh)

SQ: ER4P>TF10>>>>E6i>>A151>Mee M9>s4(just dont like the sound sig its stuffy)

Comfort:A151>E6i>ER4P>M9>S4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TF10

Build quality: ER4P(new but if the e6i is any indication)=E6i(still going strong after many years)=A151(1 year of extreme abuse finally took it out)>=S4>=m9>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TF10(broke within 6 months)

The only props i give to the tf10 is getting them replaced with a brand new ue900 under warranty

FXT90 > GR07 > GR06 >VC02 > FX40 = MP9927 = SHE3580 > E10 > XB60EX > PL11 > some random sony IEMs > soundmax AH-306 >>>>>>>>> every $2 earphones ever

I also listened to some other high end IEMs such as Image X10, TF10, PFE 112, a Shure model I forgot its name but that was a while ago and my ears weren't well educated back then so I can't really rate them

Really?! I've been there a couple of times and wasn't aware of that. I'll be sure to check that out the next time I visit. Thanks.

Ah, ok I know where that is. No wonder I didn't see any.

My preference from my collection

Soundtrack (mostly Indian Film music) : PFE232 > PFE011 > SE535LTD > X10

Contemporary Instrumental / New Age : PFE232

Pop : PFE232 > X10 = SE215

Rock : SE215 > PFE232 > SE535LTD > X10

Old Songs/Low bit rate : SE535LTD = PFE011 = PFE232

Classical : SE535LTD > PFE232 > X10 > PFE011

Fusion : X10 > PFE232 > PFE012 > SE535LTD

*Both PFE's with Grey filter, rarely Black filter, never Green filter

Sound quality:

Audio Technica CKM500 (by a mile from the S4) > Klipsch S4 > JVC Marshmallow FX35 > Phillips SHE3580 (good sound though, just not as good as the others and build quality bad)
