Question about MIT Grad school admissions (for a friend)

One of my classmates wants to go to MIT for operations research, and he's having hard time getting real info from admissions. He has four electives for his last undergrad semester, and was wondering if he needs to take certain math or science classes. His highest math is Pre-Calculus, highest science is Biology. Any other admission requirements you guys know would also be helpful.

EDIT: I just checked the MIT website and there actually is a lot of info (didn't think of it at first for some reason). Any personal thoughts would help nonetheless.

Highest math is Pre-Calc? Highest science is Bio? Are we talking about HS or college?

If he's having a hard time finding that info, he might want to reconsider applying to MIT.

Yeah yeah I know snark snark one-finger monocle lift.

He seems like a really cool guy, hell I couldn't get into (or survive) MIT if I tried so who am I to judge. Anyways he got an e-mail from the school saying that a few more math classes would definitely look good.

The management majors at my school seem to only know to use the internet for registration and social networking. When a junior can handle facebook but not be able to google basic information, it's messed up.

He's a management major? MIT Sloan, then? If he's only up to precalc, then I'd suggest going more toward business rather than Operations Research. I have a friend who was a whiz at sci/math, and he's at Berkeley majoring in OR and industrial engineering, and Stanford just offered grad school prospects toward him... It's not for the faint of hearted....

Not sure why he chose MIT honestly. I've only known him for one semester, he's got potential, but I'm not sure if he knows what he's getting himself into. When I think of MIT, I think of crazy smart math/science/computer kids building giant self-sufficient robots and eating fancy cheese.

lol...a good friend of mine's crashing his 1st year of research there...I think in aerospace engineering. Don't forget the DIY electronics/software apps part...

Aren't you from the Boston area?
