Westone 3 Bass

What do you think of the Westone 3 bass?

Also feel free to comment if you think it is manageable via EQ adjustment.

Personally-

With Comply tips - Muddy and overwhelming
With Clear Silicones - Punchy and strong

Couldn't actually believe the difference when I switched from the comply p series (enjoyed the isolation they offer).

Definitely on the over-doing it side of neutral (with triflanges, haven't tried other tips). Somewhat better with my RSA Tomahawk amp than without, but it's clearly the character of these 'phones.

Getting a good seal with the comply foams, I found the bass a bit bloated, but I thought it brought some color to the music. With the silicone tips, I didn't found them more punchy than bloated. I love the bass of the W3's, imo they're the best of any universal iem.

The bass is great on those days I need fun entertainment. It's a bit too heavy for critical listening.

personally when i A/B'ed them with the UM2s, i found the bass to be slightly boomy, like it lacked a bit in weight. dont get me wrong, the bass was definitely present.

this was done with the yellow foam ear tips.
