No line out for 5G nano?

For some reason when I try to use my line out dock, it does not work and only plays through the internal speaker?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Newer ipods require a special pinout to "enable" the analog line out.

Your old line out cable may not be wired for the newer ipods.

As far as I know, one way to do this is to jumper pin 11 to one of several ground pins on the connector.

Thats weird because an ipod classic works with it and so does my touch.

Interesting. Perhaps it's yet another change implemented by apple for the newest Nano.

The dock cable that qusp made for me for my iPhone 3G will sometimes work and sometimes not when used with my new 2009 Classic.

Ok... so I tried an older apple dock that came with the 3G ipod. This one works fine!

I also have a later made apple dock, the one that uses a remote and it will not work. hmmm...

It's a problem with the cable; if it's not wired correctly it won't work with the newer models. Luckily my cable that I got back in 07 worked with my 1G Touch and now with the 5G Nano
