I apologize if this has been asked before, I tried searching but came up with nothing. I'm planning on diyModding my iPod Video 5G, and wondering which wire I should use. I haven't been into hi-fi long enough to have an opinion on whether copper/silver etc. makes a difference in sound, but I definitely do believe that poor quality wire can create problems. And since this mod is permanent, unlike say an LOD, I'd like not to regret my choices later. Any advice would be appreciated
Currently all I have is some basic copper(I think) solid core from DigiKey that I got for my CMoy. I don't remember the gauge. I'm on a budget, but price isn't too much of a factor within reason, given that I'm hoping to keep using this iPod for years to come.
A vendor that ships to Canada at a reasonable price would be ideal.
Also, should I be careful about which solder I use? Which type is recommended?
Thank you all,
