FLAC hack for Sony NWZ-A729?

I own a Sony NWZ-A729, and so far I'm happy with it except for the fact it can't play most lossless formats. WAV is too huge, I'd prefer FLAC.

RockBox doesn't seem to have anything for this player, does anybody know where I can get some custom firmware or a hack to allow the Sony NWZ-A729 to play FLAC?

Thanks

Sony arent known as the kings of proprietary audio for nothing. Every time a rumour of something like this (or a LOD) emerges, the originator seems to disappear. Technically, I'm sure it can be done, but I dont know of anyone who is currently looking at actually doing it- happy to hear otherwise.

At least the put in AAC

You're correct about Sony. I remember when their digital cameras first came out, the "Memory Stick" wasn't manufactured as widely by other vendors as it is today. So the industry standard SD was of no use.

Getting back to the DAPs, it would be nice if somebody has hacked the firmware here.
