I think this conversation is going the same as the debate about whether burn-in is real or delusion.
I am a realist. I believe in the subjective as well as the objective.
Just because science cannot explain something does not mean it doesn't exist.
(And just because I have a persecution complex doesn't mean that they're not out to get me.)

Heresy!

Just tell that to the EE's (especially the military ones) and see how they will slap you.

If a HP scope can not measure the difference, the difference must not exist!

What exactly is the "something" you say science cannot explain?

You're being quite disingenuous here. I know of no one who has ever made such a silly claim.

But let's put the shoe on the other foot here.

What exactly should be measured?

Thread Starter
Woah. Chill guys. Just trying to get some opinions about using them for LOD.

LionPlushie, it's too late. This thread is hijacked and we're taking no prisoners.
Get the flexible cable for your LOD
That should be a LOD off your mind.
Koyaan asked:-
What exactly is the "something" you say science cannot explain?.
For starters, science cannot explain what the mind is.
They can talk about the brain and how it functions as a machine, but that is not the same as understanding what the person/personality is and how it works.
There are other things that science cannot explain, but they're forbidden by the forum rules.
While ever science is hamstrung by the dual principles of falsifiability and empirical evidence, it cannot prove somethings.
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is proof that there are some things that are unknowable whilst we are confined from within our universe.
Hope this helps.

Koyaan asked:-
What exactly should be measured? .

That is a vexing problem whilst ever we have engineers.
It is a well known axiom amongst us technicians that an engineer's prime reason for their existence is to make life intolerable for those lower in the "food-chain".
Take this prime example - How long is a piece of string?
There are three answers to this question.
1:- the normal answer, and
2:- the engineer's answer.
3:- the Rule of Thumb answer.
The normal answer: From one end to the other. (simple and concise).
The engineer's answer: Measure from exactly the mid point of said string to either extremity and multiply said distance by exactly 2(two). (A convoluted answer designed to obfuscate the answer from those who do not have two IQ points to rub together).
The Rule of Thumb Answer: About that long. (Approximation only - do not use for evaluative purposes).

Point proven beyond argument.
