Well then I guess the lesson here is don't get SF5 EBs reshelled with Fisher. I wonder if they have reshelled any other SF5 EB and how they came out.

Sure since you paid for it you had good faith it would turn out to your liking. The problem is that since you had a bad experience with this, you're out on other threads bashing Fisher in general and promoting other companies even though you've never owned any other reshell..

Not much. You just have to keep sending them back and sending them back. Two weeks turns into two months very quickly.

Damn. Too many Head-fiers, growing pains, or what do you think the problem is over there?

I was getting excited about getting some impressions sent over soon, but... are there any good alternatives to Fisher for Triple.fi re-molds?

Fisher said the only dynamic IEM they can reshell is the SF5 EB since the dynamic driver is already in its own housing inside the IEM. Other dynamic IEMs typically rely on the air space/shape of the housing to get its sound.

They've definitely slipped on several IEMs on here lately, but several of the recent ones look great too. My guess is that they're overwhelmed with orders and the issues are stemming from that (e.g., possibly less QC, not paying as much attention to detail, training new employees, etc.). I should be getting my first refit back this week and I hope that they fixed it. My issue wasn't with quality or appearance, I was just not getting a good seal in the right monitor, something that is relatively common for custom IEMs in general.

Regarding alternatives, I know Alien Ears and UM do reshells. I don't remember seeing any examples of Alien Ears reshells but the UM ones look very good. I'm just not sure I'd want to send mine overseas and deal with the language/communication issue that many have said they experienced.

I am calling about having some impressions done today and I am wondering what specifically I need to ask for? Just impressions? Or what? And do I need to do open jaw impressions if I am just using them for listening? Thanks.
