IEMs reshelled into Custom Molds $80 in the USA (TripleFi 10, SE530, etc.) from FISHER HEARING - Page 103

Well then I guess the lesson here is don't get SF5 EBs reshelled with Fisher. I wonder if they have reshelled any other SF5 EB and how they came out.

I would if I could. Fisher already has them and my money. Talk Fisher into having UM do them and I'll gladly do it.

well when you pay for something you expect it to actually work when you get it.

Sure since you paid for it you had good faith it would turn out to your liking. The problem is that since you had a bad experience with this, you're out on other threads bashing Fisher in general and promoting other companies even though you've never owned any other reshell..

EDIT: Nevermind

1. Shells looked good but sound was way off between the two. No bass in the L earpiece. They were not quality tested and after putting them on the test machine, the large imbalance was seen easily.

2. Sound is great but shells look like a dog chewed on them and managed to get dirt inside of them as well. They came with the graph from the test machine verifying the frequency response and spl.

3. Shells were bad enough not to make it out of Fisher.

4. Shells look good and sound is messed up again. No graph included this time and the bass is awful in the R earpiece.

5. Kim is handling them personally this time and has already verified the sound problem. Fingers are crossed that the 5th time is the charm.
Holy....I'm wondering what I can do if sharing the same case with you Still waiting for my UE11. Hope it can be shipped by Monday

Not much. You just have to keep sending them back and sending them back. Two weeks turns into two months very quickly.

And it even worse when you don't live in US

Damn. Too many Head-fiers, growing pains, or what do you think the problem is over there?

I was getting excited about getting some impressions sent over soon, but... are there any good alternatives to Fisher for Triple.fi re-molds?

Ask kobayashi when he gets his back the 5th time lol

Re: SF5 EB - that phone has a dynamic driver for the bass channel, no? I thought fisher didn't do dynamic drivers.

5 times, eh? No exactly turning a profit on you, are they?

Ignore

Fisher said the only dynamic IEM they can reshell is the SF5 EB since the dynamic driver is already in its own housing inside the IEM. Other dynamic IEMs typically rely on the air space/shape of the housing to get its sound.

They've definitely slipped on several IEMs on here lately, but several of the recent ones look great too. My guess is that they're overwhelmed with orders and the issues are stemming from that (e.g., possibly less QC, not paying as much attention to detail, training new employees, etc.). I should be getting my first refit back this week and I hope that they fixed it. My issue wasn't with quality or appearance, I was just not getting a good seal in the right monitor, something that is relatively common for custom IEMs in general.

Regarding alternatives, I know Alien Ears and UM do reshells. I don't remember seeing any examples of Alien Ears reshells but the UM ones look very good. I'm just not sure I'd want to send mine overseas and deal with the language/communication issue that many have said they experienced.

I am calling about having some impressions done today and I am wondering what specifically I need to ask for? Just impressions? Or what? And do I need to do open jaw impressions if I am just using them for listening? Thanks.
