GOOD DAC/AMP = NO NEED FOR GOOD DAP?

SORRY TO ASK THIS STUPID QUESTION HERE.

But is it true if u have a decent dac/amp then there's no need for a super good DAP?

what i mean is, i.e. would a normal mp3 player and a super good mp3 player each connected to the same dac/amp sound the same? provided songs run thru dac.

and just another little question about iBasso D4. if i connect ,say, ipod classic(LOD)-> D4->d5000, does it run thru the dac section?

thanks guys

Outputting the audio signal through the ipod line out will be analog, not digital. The DAC will not be usable.

The better your DAP, the better the amped sound will be. A good amp will not make up for a poor input, as it will do a great job of amplifying a bad signal. As the saying goes, garbage in, (amplified) garbage out!

If you run your ipod thru the D4, you will not be using the DAC section.

The DAC is only powered by a USB input.

so it doesn't matter whether it does thru the dac first and then amp or not, it will always sound bad?

I guess you're confused about the dac/amp here.
You can only use your DAC+Amp with your MP3 player if both of them have digital input+output. The iPods do not have the digital output so when you connect your iPod Classic with your D4, only the amp section will be used. The DAC is not used.
The main purpose of most DAC+Amp is to connect with your laptop via USB, not with MP3 players.
