Sansa Fuze battery life question

Hi, to any other Fuze owners out there - how long is your battery lasting you on a full charge?

My is running out VERY fast it seems, I charge it at night then when I use it the next morning it drains from 100% battery to about 90% in 10 minutes, about 1 or 2 hours later it's at 60% battery or below.

I left it on in my pocket turned on playing and forgot it was on, checked back a couple of hours later and it was on 10% and ran out while I as walking along listening

The battery life seems very low on this player compared to my Sony player which I can use for almost 2-3 days (using about 3/4 hours a day) before charging it.

I'm using the Fuze on max volume (6db), running rockbox, playing it through a Fiio E5 and all the music is in FLAC.

Is that why the battery life is so terrible? Would just changing the music from FLAC to 320kbps MP3 double the battery life maybe? It would be nice to actually use it for a full day out without the battery dying on me

FLAC's on my Fuze EAT the battery. VBR0's aren't battery friendly either but at least double that of FLAC.

RockBox, max volume and FLAC - none of which is battery friendly.

With my Clip+ I get five hours and only about six or seven with the Fuze. That is, playing FLAC files. I just get used to recharging, like my phone.

That's why AMP3 is so weird to me in at least one aspect: battery life. I've had go over fifty hours between charges. And even then, I don't really know how run down it was.

I listen to a lot of FLAC files from my 16 GB microSD card as well, and the battery life is indeed substantially lower this way. I may consider converting my FLACs to 320 Kbit MP3s to improve battery life (and save disk space) that way. Anyone know if it's worth the sacrifice in SQ?

Yeah the battery life is definitely one of the strong points of the amp3. I regulary get 60-70 hrs of battery life. And i have never tried to use my amp3 and it has died and i have had it for almost 6 months....
