I only have the Thunder in my possession. I have a feeling the Rain will be more to my liking but have no plans to acquire one at this point.

Why the 600, Buy.com has the PUR-1000 for $59.24 !

The review was positive for the 600s so I elected for them. Plus I live right across the street from frys.

^LOL, my fault, I meant That Joker should review the 1000, not that you should have bought them .

are there any IEMs that can match the comfort and fit of the marshmallows?

The marshmallows aren't really that much more comfortable than average. The tips go stale after a while and the cord is too short. The AirCushions are definitely more comfortable for me. So are the Soundmagic PL30/PL50, the Meelec M11, and the Meelec M6 with the memory wire removed. If you really like foam tips the Soundmagics are the only ones that include some.

Would marshmallow tips work with the M11 or M9?

Yes, the PL50 has to be worn cord-up.

As for your other thread, the Olives will not fit on the Marshmallows without de-coring. I wouldn't recommend using $15 tips on $20 earphones anyway.

Hey the marshmallows stay in my ears even when I smile and when I open my jaw wide. will I get the same effect with the M11s with their double-flange?

Finally updated the thread with the Panasonic HJE900 and Monster Turbine Pro Gold

I have never had an IEM fall out when I open my mouth, so I don't think that's unique to the marhsmallows. The M11 will be fine.

joker, at this point have you considered contacting the various manufacturers directly and asking for samples? Considering the size and popularity of your thread, one would think they would be more than willing to accommodate you.

hmm was wanting to see your thoughts on the pannys, i still cant deicide what to make of them. massive oomph, indeed really too much, far too much but in short periods its really quite engaging.

bass kicks you in the nads and the highs scream in your face, but still a little bit fun

Haha. Thanks, maybe when I clear up my massive backlog of gear to test. So far I've only requested samples when the manufacturer advertised such a promotion. Except for Lenntek, whom I asked for a sample of their BA model but never got a response .

To me the S4 were more offensive in terms of the discrepancy between the mids vs highs/lows. I can certainly see where you're coming from regarding the Pannies but they are just so darn snappy when it comes to electronica and trance that I can't help but smile.

Taking a shift in a more budget-oriented direction for the next couple of weeks. A few new brands as well as some things I've been promising to review for a while .
