Definitely worth the $9. Thanks for the heads-up!

A number of online stores sell them, including buy.com and J&R. Sonystyle has free shipping I think.

Edit: don't know about international postage. You may want to try all the stores and see which is cheapest.

First dozen IEMs added. That's about 1/3 of what I currently own, so more updates to come in a little while.

Please feel free to make suggestions, folks. I'm still experimenting with the format. Comparison tables are likely to come in future as more earphones are added.

nice write up so far and pretty much agree about the jazz

Glad to see the review is moving along. Well done! I'm glad you picked up well on the bass presentation of the ER4S. I know a lot of people quickly write it off as lacking but rather it's only in extension, not quantity/quality. I've often thought the ER4S has great midbass and high bass presentation, not monstrous or overwhelming but not lacking in anything other then extension into the bottom octaves. I think your review is spot on.

I'm curiously awaiting the rest of the reviews to flow in.

Thanks, good to hear I'm not alone. I do love the bass that the ER4S puts out and have no problem with the quantity. Ultimately, the CK10 won out for me for being more practical/convenient and a little warmer-sounding, but I had no complaints using the ER4S as my primary IEM for a few weeks .

Spot on.

for all the praise/recommendation you give, the IM-590, you should get your hands on another pair and give them a review in this thread(yes, horrible sentence construction) :P

I'm thinking about trying to do a review, though I have a odd felling that it would be very short and not very informative.

no no nothing looked wrong, well couple things id not agree with but nothing major like id have given the PL-50 a higher value score, the R1 lower (my god the R1 is warm and bassy)

i had the jazz in yesterday and really they are astonishingly good. its so sad that a crappy naming scheme i think killed them at birth. i am lead to believe they may be discontinued soon.

Might have to update the price/value of the RE0 seeing as how they're now 79.99, though its unclear whether or not this will only last till the end of November or not

Great review so far!

Is that a dig at my objectivity? . But no, I'd love another set of Maximos and am working on it. Several IEMs way in front of them on my list though.

Ah, but as unpleasant as it is, the price of the R1 has really plummeted in the last week. It is now at $27, but was at $21 yesterday. Also, I think I factored in the cost of Sony Hybrids into the PL50 cause I can't listen to them otherwise. That and the fact that I like them about as much as the Ai-M6, but the M6 is now much, much cheaper.

As for the Jazz, I want whatever they replace it with. Now.

Thanks. I would give the RE0 10.5/10 in value but I don't think I can. At least ClieOS can give it a second Sonic Diamond or something...

well they dont look like the pic, which is clearly a pic of the Jazz. i got my set on saturday morn and they had quite a bad channel imbalance but the good side, i wasnt happy with. even at that price they are going back

cause you know i want to keep my IEM collection erm really small and just erm couldnt find room for them, yeah thats it

of course not :P simply observing that it would make a lot of sense for you to review them.
