Hi, I'm searching for a good portable amp for my Ipod touch 2g and Westone 3.
Max price around 200$. Music I listen is rock, heavy metal and sometimes jazz.

Edit - scratch the Pico, or increase your budget.

Used RSA Tomahawk or new iBasso D2+ Boa maybe?

Thanks for your answers.
My first choice is a used RSA Tomahawk, if I find one.
Other choices are iBasso T3, iBasso D2+ Boa, Corda Headsix, Nuforce Icon Mobile. Any thoughts on these?
Or any other suggestions?

If you want to buy a product like this which is a most-wanted, I can advise you to post a WTB post just in case, if somebody is not sure to sell it, hesitating.
It worked for me when I wanted to sell my amp. I've posted a FS for one month, no answer. I gave up then I saw a WTB post, deal was done in three days.
Don't forget to look the FS post though. Just play it both ways.

And good luck.

with the D4 out, I recommend the ibasso D3, it rivals everything at 1/2 the price...Pauly

Why are you all reccommending dac/amps if it's for his ipod? T3 should be a great choice.

^^ We are?
The RSA Tomahawk have been suggested twice and it is certainly amplifier only. No DAC in there...

Both the Corda XXS and the base Pico are configured as 'amp only'. The 3Move and the more expensive Picos give you a DAC with your amp, but I think you will find that the two I recommended are amp only.

ibasso offerings are the best bang for the buck especially when you consider inexpensive options of opamp rolling later if you want a different sound.

Used RSA Hornet

My vote is for a used RSA Hornet.

I prefer this over the Tomahawk as you have a hope on powering full sized cans (upto 300 ohms) and IEMs.
