Help making custom pads for my headphones

When I make custom pads is it OK to cover the 3 slots that are circled in red? Would it affect sound quality? I obviously will not be covering anything in the blue circle.

Generally, the sound changes when something is changed, and getting a positive or non-negative result is often a trial and error, hit or miss endeavor.

Those slots appear to open up to the front chamber like all those circle shaped holes. If so, then I'm guessing the change in sound from covering the slots would be minimal and not likely negative. If those slots open up to the rear chamber, then I'm guessing to cover them up would result in a decreased chance in you preferring the results.

I'm basing my guesses on what I've read about modding headphones and my experience with modding headphones, in particular with the RX900 and KSC75.
